edit request
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
I was advised that the changes that I recently made to this page could be seen as a COI, since I mentioned in the "reason for edit" box that I had made the edit as a favor to her. There is no personal involvement, though; I am simply an appreciator of her performances. She had noted that she did not know how to do the Move operation so as to rename the page. I said that I could do it, and volunteered to do so. (I would do the same for anyone, regardless of whether I knew the person.) Please advise; thanks!
(apologies for the accidental doubling of the 'edit COI' tag)

- Hi @Silverhill, I assume the change is to move the page to Carla Ulrich and Special:Diff/1229682581 this edit explaining the name change. Since you're acting on her behalf, regardless of whether she's directly telling you to do so, ideally you'd work through COI edit requests. I'd be happy to add the alternative name to the article if you have a source for it. However, moving the page is higher bar: the title should be the most commonly used/recognizable name for a person, in most cases, so you'd need to show that before we could move it. - If adding the alternative name will have essentially the same effect as moving the page, but without the extra difficulty, please go ahead with that. The source for the name is Ms. Ulbrich herself; I can get contact information for you, if needed, to verify this.

- When I said "add alternative name" I just meant adding something like "also known as Carla Ulrich" to the article.
- Unfortunately we need the information to be verifiable, which means Ulbrich contacting me personally isn't sufficient. Could you point me at a published source that uses the name? For something like this it can be published by Ulbrich herself, so e.g. credits on her music, or a concert billing her that way would be sufficient to demonstrate that it's a name that she uses (though not the backstory, that needs to be sourced also).
